Red Hook Farms is a youth-centered urban agriculture and food justice program operating one of Brooklyn’s largest farms.
Goals:

Process community food scraps as well as organic material generated from the 2.75 acres Parks Department site including pulled weeds, pruned branches, spent crops, fallen leaves, and farm stand scraps.
Distribution
Provide free finished compost produced on site for community and individual gardeners as well as local greening projects.
Outreach & Education
Provide weekly volunteer opportunities for individuals as well as Master Composters to learn about and engage in compost processing - including building piles, turning windrows, and sifting finished product.
